#ASCILITE17 fun captured! Photos and tweet archive now available

Our photographers took some great photos at ASCILITE 2017 and we're happy to be able to share those with you!

We've split the photos up so if you're looking for photos from a particular day, you don't have to download them all.

Finally, we also created an archive of the Twitter hashtag in a Google Spreadsheet.

And that's it from us for the year! We hope you have a fabulous festive season.

Missed #ASCILITE17? Video interviews with keynotes now available!

We wanted to make parts of ASCILITE 2017 available to those who couldn't join us in Toowoomba, and we took a bunch of steps to make that happen.

We've already posted the recording of our live streamed panel discussion on privacy, trust, student data and the university. Catch it here.

We also decided to interview each of our keynote speakers in the USQ TV studio to capture key insights from their keynotes to share with a wider audience.

We're excited to announce that those recordings are now available.

James Arvanitakis

Shelley Kinash from USQ's Office for the Advancement of Learning and Teaching interviewed our first keynote, James Arvanitakis.

Marita Cheng

USQ Director of Library Services, Carmel O'Sullivan, chatted with Marita Cheng.

Amber Case

Kate Davis (that's me!) from USQ's Digital Life Lab interviewed Amber Case.

By popular demand! Recording of exploratory panel: Privacy, trust, student data, and the university

At ASCILITE 2017, we hosted an exploratory panel on the topic of Privacy, trust, student data and the university, which we live streamed so people who weren't at the conference could join us for this important conversation

Initially, we did not plan to make a recording available as this is quite a contentious topic, and we wanted our panellists to feel comfortable with having a frank discussion.

We have had several requests for a recording of the session, so we checked with out panellists and they let us know they were happy for the recording to be shared. So here it is!

Thanks to our panellists for their willingness to share, and to USQ's Media Design and Development team for their masterful handling of the online session and post-processing of the recording.

A snapshot of Day 1

The first day of ASCILITE 2017 is behind us, but we had so much fun we wanted to capture some of the action here on the blog.

We’ve done a quick grab of all the activity on the Twitter hashtag yesterday on Storify (there’s some spam in there but we’ll clean it up today).

Our photographers from USQ’s Media Design and Development team took snaps around the conference yesterday. We’re still processing photos from the end of the day, but we thought we’d share some of the photos the photographers have given us so far.

From the welcome session

We had a moving welcome to country from Uncle Wayne and storytelling from Winangali (including some dancing delegates!).

We also had an official welcome from USQ Vice Chancellor Professor Geraldine Mackenzie, President of ASCILITE Dominique Parrish, and Chair of the Organising Committee Professor Helen Partridge.

From the keynote session

James Arvanitakis had us laughing from his first words (but we learnt some stuff too!).

From the exhibition

Delegates and exhibitors chatting in the exhibition.

From the concurrent sessions

Some snaps of speakers and delegates in the concurrent sessions.

The Organising Committee hard at work

A few snaps of our team on the job yesterday.

We’re looking forward to spending today with you and – importantly – some dinner and dancing tonight.
